Saw our first elephant today on the 6 lane highway between Noida and Delhi. The elephant was waiting patiently while the rider, called a Mahout (thank you google), was taking a leak by the side of the road. We see about 20 people a day peeing by the side of the road. I told John we need to get in the spirit at some point, but i think that might be a ways off.
Unfortunately, this sighting was just after we got in the car, and i still had a pop tart in my hand and no camera ready. oh well. I can tell you it was a massive elephant with a comfy looking pad on its back. Next time I'll be ready with the camera.
